Ballet
African Dance celebrates rhythm, culture, and community through traditional movement and music from West Africa. Students build stamina, confidence, and expressive freedom in an uplifting environment.
Classes:
- Ballet I (Ages 9–14, experience required) — Mondays 4:30 pm, Tuesdays 5:30 pm, Saturdays 10:00 am
- Teen Ballet (Ages 11–15, beginners welcome) — Tuesdays 5:30 pm
- Advance Ballet I, Ballet II & Ballet III — By placement, ages 10+
Contemporary Dance
Contemporary encourages creativity and emotional expression through movement inspired by ballet, jazz, and modern dance. Dancers improve flexibility, musicality, and performance quality while exploring their own artistic style.
Classes:
- Mondays 7:00 pm
Jazz
Jazz classes combine technique, rhythm, and energetic choreography to help dancers improve coordination, confidence, and stage presence. Perfect for students who enjoy expressive movement and upbeat music.

- Beginning Jazz and Jazz I 4:30 pm
- Jazz II and Jazz III 5:30 pm
- Teen/Adult 7:00 pm
Modern
Modern Dance focuses on creative movement, control, and storytelling through techniques like floor work, suspension, and release. Students strengthen artistry while learning to move with confidence and freedom.

- Tuesdays 6:30 pm Beginning Modern
- Tuesdays 7:30 pm Teen/Adult Modern

Musical Theater Class
Musical Theater gives performers the chance to combine acting, singing, and dance in a fun and encouraging atmosphere. Students build stage confidence while learning character work and performance skills.
Classes:
- Wednesdays 7:00 pm (Sept – May)
- Thursdays 5:45 pm – 6:45 pm
Tap
Tap classes teach rhythm, timing, and musical expression through exciting footwork and movement combinations. Dancers build coordination and confidence while learning classic and contemporary tap styles.

- Beginning Teen/Adult Tap — Thursdays 7:00 pm
- Tap I — Wednesday 6:15 pm – 7:00 pm
- Tap II — Wednesday 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Hip-Hop
Hip-Hop introduces dancers to foundational grooves, combinations, and freestyle-inspired movement in an upbeat environment. Classes build stamina, confidence, and self-expression through high-energy choreography.

- 7:00-8:00 pm Ages 11-15

Conditioning
Conditioning classes focus on strengthening the core, improving flexibility, and increasing body awareness to support healthy movement and dance training. Ideal for improving technique and preventing injury.

- Summer Sessions — Mondays through Fridays
African Dance
African Dance introduces students to traditional West African movement and rhythms while celebrating culture, community, and expression. Classes are energetic, uplifting, and full of musical connection.

Looking for Ballet for Boys?
Imagine your son stepping into a space designed just for him—an encouraging, positive environment where confidence building feels natural and friendships come easily. All-Boys’ Ballet offers a place where boys grow skills rooted in strength, coordination, and artistry, all while feeling supported and understood.
Your dancer will explore powerful jumps, clean turns, and the strong posture that helps him shine on stage. Classes also focus on upper-body strength to prepare him for the athletic demands of dance, including future partnering skills like lifts and assists. It all feels Simple, Easy, and Convenient for families while nurturing a sense of pride and accomplishment.
This program lays a solid, athletic foundation—flexibility, coordination, strength—woven together with technique and expressive movement. It’s a path that helps young men discover confidence, develop artistry, and step toward their full potential as dancers and individuals.

Are there performances?
Yes — performance opportunities are thoughtfully designed to celebrate progress without pressure. Younger dancers enjoy intimate, supportive performances, while older dancers gain confidence through joyful stage experiences. We also have additional opportunities with City Ballet of Cleveland’s “Uniquely Cleveland Nutcracker” and Spring Shows by audition once dancers are 7 years of age.

Inclement Weather
In case of inclement weather, please call the studio line 216-295-2222. If you gave your email address at registration, we will send out timely notices when possible.
If the Shaker Heights schools are closed, the classes prior to 3:00 PM will be canceled. Evening classes will be determined by road conditions and weather reports. Please call the studio line for updates.
As always we ask for parents and students to use their best judgment, as your safety is our chief concern during these times. For class make-up information, please refer to the CCD make-up policy.
